The mission of the Champagnat Learning Center is to assist students with learning difficulties in reaching their full potential. Through recognition of individual needs, academically, spiritually and socially, the staff encourages students to recognize personal strengths and challenge weaknesses.
This goal is pursued in an environment of structure, encouragement, and instruction. The student is scheduled in the Learning Center according to his/her particular needs. The classes are small and include students of various academic levels.
Students are placed in the Learning Center based upon recommendations from teachers, parents and testing scores. Students with IEP/504 plans are encouraged to be in the program to receive their accommodations.
The emphasis is the development of better study and organizational skills. Assignment planners are checked daily, and Learning Center teachers monitor student progress in the general classroom through weekly contact with classroom teachers.
