In case you missed our Celebration of the Arts, here are some highlights:

Choral Concert

Our NYSSMA students kicked off the evening sharing their solos that they had performed in the NYSSMA Solo Fest earlier this spring. Congratulations to Daniel Berry ’19, Giana Flohl ’18, Sarah Nichols ’19, Lin Rao ’19, and Grace Ringwood ’19. They all received excellent scores, and we congratulate them on mastering challenging music in levels 5 & 6.

We also enjoyed performances from the combined choirs, OLL Men’s Choir, Select Chorus, and solos from seniors, Victoria Smith, Victoria Vacca and Julia Wheeler.

Art Show

Our West Wing hallway was transformed into an art gallery as our Art Department presented “Ideas Made Visible”. This visual arts event showcased artwork from Studio Art 1, Studio Art 2/Honors, Screen Printing, Art & Photography Club and the T-Shirt Club. The Art Department was especially proud to honor our senior art students, Diana Bortz, Stephanie Erlacher, Kayla Kade, Sarah Paradie and Brittany Savin.  Click here to read more about these students.

The main event of the evening was a showing of the student created movies that our 10th grade honors class directed and produced, and was met with rave reviews!

Band Concert

Otherwise known as the “senior concert”, our band showcased their talents playing musical pieces chosen by each of our senior members of Concert Band and Wind Ensemble. Again, an outstanding evening of amazing talent and heartfelt moments. Mr. Bellino saluted each of his senior students, giving us great insight into their talents and goals. These 12 musicians will most definitely be missed!

Congratulations to senior Adam Wiley who was awarded the Policella Music Scholarship Award, and Ian Palmer, recipient of the John Philip Sousa Award.
