Coach Mohammed also comments, “It is important to me that we find a way to get our boys to see that the game they play is more than just a game, but can be used as a vehicle to do good in their community.” The color gold is a color that represents childhood cancer, and the team enlisted the support of Sleepy Hollow High School to sell t-shirts prior to playing this game on Thursday, May 16th. Almost $1,100 was raised in total from the sale of these shirts that both teams wore during their warm-ups prior to that afternoon’s game.
The Love Holds Life foundation provides monetary aid for medical expenses not covered by insurance to children who are fighting cancer. According to Richard Senato, Founder, and CEO of LHL, “My ultimate mission is to ensure every child battling cancer has the financial support to old love and life.”
