Concert Band & Wind Ensemble
Directed by Mr. Bellino, these students showcased their talents playing musical pieces that they have worked on throughout the school year, several for competitions and some chosen by senior members of these groups. An impressive evening capped off with Mr. Bellino saluting each of his graduating senior students, giving us great insight into their talents and goals. These six musicians (Katie Cerbino, Sam Gallery, Seamus Gould, Courtney Mattison, Timothy Maguire, Tyler Ruffino, ) will most certainly be missed!
Congratulations to Catherine Cerbino, who is the recipient of the John Philip Sousa Award this year.
The Donald J. Policella Memorial Award – This award began in 2000 and is given to a Lourdes senior majoring and/or minoring in the field of music. It is a monetary award given at graduation to the best-qualified music department candidate. Maryanne and Steven Policella initiated this honor in memory of their father Donald J. Policella, a long time musician and lover of music. Both Policella children, Lisa ’01 and Stephen ’98 were very involved in the music program at Lourdes. The 2018 Donald J Policella Award was presented to Tyler Ruffino.
Congratulations to all Music students. Well done!
