OLL Chaplain, Father Lutz celebrated Mass for the entire administration, faculty, and staff to begin the day. We were honored to welcome cantor Michael Bilello who performed the music for Tuesday’s service.
After Mass, Mrs. Merryman’s inspiring message spoke of our roles aimed at fulfilling the mission of our school, stating, “As Catholic educators we at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic High School partner in the church’s mission of educating the whole person and of witnessing to the Good News of salvation in Jesus Christ. At OLLCHS even if you do not teach religion— your role as a stakeholder within this vibrant community is to lead our students to profess the truth in love and to help them grow to full maturity taking responsibility for their learning and choices. Lourdes teachers need to lead by word and deed …demonstrating for our students the need to nurture and fill their soul the same way they feed their minds and their bodies. We fulfill this mission together. I ask you today to consider your role….I’m not asking you to do big things …just little things with great love, integrity, and UNITY.”
Faculty spent the remainder of the day preparing for the arrival of students with department meetings and workshops.
