With a very close competition among the top 24 out of 80 math teams in the DUSO league the Lourdes Math Team tied for 3rd place. They were one of only six teams to correctly answer the final relay question thus securing their position.
After the competition, the students were treated to a special guest lecture from Natalie Frank, a professor at Vassar College, on quasicrystal structures.
They will have the States competition on April 6th in Middletown where Raymond Aye, Theo DeGuzman, Jerry Gong, and Albert Zhu will be joining top scoring students from the DUSO league to compete against teams from all over New York State.
