York performing at Carnegie Hall at age 9.York performing at Carnegie Hall at age 9.York is an accomplished pianist having played at Carnegie Hall at the ages of 9, 11 and 13. He started playing at 4 years old, his brother Lucas was his first teacher, and takes private lessons in NYC every weekend. Until Covid-19 York also took lessons at the Mannes School of Music, NYC.

When York entered the competition, he registered as an OLLCHS student. During his performances he proudly wore the OLLCHS uniform.
