“We are so proud of the Class of 2023 Valedictorian and Salutatorian”, remarked Mrs. Vilardo. “The determination, persistence, and grit that both Isabella and Matthew have displayed through their impeccable academic body of work at Our Lady of Lourdes is motivating and commendable. Two outstanding Lourdeans who we know will have great success while also utilizing their talents and gifts to serve the Lord. A well-deserved recognition.”

Isabella will attend Bowdoin College in the fall, where she plans to study Government and pursue a career as a lawyer. During her years at Lourdes, Isabella was a member of the Women’s Golf and Tennis teams, Mock Trial, Respect Life Club, Jam Club, Fridays for the Future, Climate Museum, News and Views, National Honor Society, and President’s Ambassador Team.

When asked about her Lourdes experience and Catholic education, Isabella said, “With Lourdes, I am prepared for adulthood, both academically and spiritually. My Lourdes education has given me the strong intellectual foundation to succeed in college courses and the robust moral compass to lead me through life.”

Matthew will attend Marist College where he plans to study Games and Emerging Media Development. While Matthew enjoyed participating in the productions presented by the Lourdes Theater Company, he was also active in the National Honor Society, Yearbook, and President’s Ambassador Team.

Matthew stated, “Thanks to the wise counseling I received from the Our Lady of Lourdes faculty, both in academic and Catholic matters, I believe I am well-prepared for any challenge the unpredictable ride we call life will throw at me.”

Congratulations to Isabella and Matthew!
