Denise M. Watson is a graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes High School, Class of 1975 and has served as a member of the Alumni Association since it’s inception.
Elected to the bench in Dutchess County Family Court in 2011, Judge Watson has also been appointed as an Acting Supreme Court Justice and presides over the Dutchess County Youth Treatment Court. Prior to being elected, Judge Watson served as principal Court Attorney to the Hon. Peter M. Forman ’73 while he was in Family Court from 1999-2010 and then as his Principal Court Attorney once he was elected to Dutchess County Court. She has been trained as a facilitator for the New York State Drug Treatment Court programs. She also sits as the representative of the Family Court on the Dutchess County Criminal Justice Council, Court Involved Youth Committee and the Juvenile Detention Task Force. She has previously served on the Dutchess County Sex Offender Management Committee, the Juvenile Justice Victim Offender Mediation Committee and the Children’s Services Council. She has been an attorney for over 35 years-licensed in New York and in Missouri having worked as a court attorney for the 21st Judicial Circuit in St. Louis County, St. Louis, Missouri from 1982-1989.
Judge Watson attended Boston College, graduating in 1982. She has been married to Patrick Watson for 36 years, has four children, James ’ 01, Cal ’03, Sarah ’07, and Matthew ’12 and currently lives in Poughkeepsie, NY.
