A Message From the Nominee
“Looking back, I can see Lourdes has shown me there is nothing I can’t do. I’ve grown more, academically, then I would have dreamed possible. My teachers, as well as my friends, have had a greater impact on me than I can describe. Because of my Lourdes experience, I will be leaving as a far better person than when I first arrived.
I am glad I attended Lourdes because of the unbelievable friendships I’ve made; my friends are some of the best people I have known and inspire me every day. I am also glad I attended Lourdes because of the incomparable teachers I have met along the way. Between my teachers and my friends, every day at Lourdes is an opportunity to learn something completely new and often time unexpected. I’ve grown as a person and deepened my faith more than I could have imagined when I began as a freshman.
The Lourdes faculty member who influenced me the most is Mrs. Cuccia. Mrs. Cuccia is the reason I love Environmental Science so much that I chose this as my major. From wading through the Wappingers creek to building our own solar cells, has engaged me with the course material more than any teacher I have ever had. I don’t think I’ve ever learned so much in such a captivating way. Having her as my teacher has made going to Lourdes an experience I will never forget.”
Alex was accepted to Fordham University, Boston College, Tufts University, The College of William and Mary, and Binghamton University.
Alex will be attending Fordham University, where he plans on majoring in Environmental Science, and being pre-med, and minoring in philosophy.
Favorite Memory from Lourdes
“There are so many… it’s so hard to choose! Going to St. Patricks Cathedral in NYC with my class and giving the senior gratitude speech is an experience I will never forget. I also loved the senior trip to Disney. Never before in my life have I had so much fun with so many close friends.”
