A Message From the Nominee
As I prepare for my future, I am confident that I have the ability to make a difference in the world. Thanks to the strong academic preparation provided by Our Lady of Lourdes, I have learned problem-solving and communication skills that are crucial for participation in a health science career. The teachers and faculty truly care about their students and are role models of love and faith within a Christian community. Lourdes has challenged me academically and spiritually by teaching us how to apply knowledge and how to live out virtues in our daily lives.
Lourdes has also provided me with a support system. Throughout these past four years, I have made great connections and friendships that will last a lifetime. I consider many of my fellow classmates as family. I am grateful for this opportunity to grow and learn within a community of individuals that have helped me create wonderful memories. Additionally, I was challenged and supported academically throughout my four-year career at Lourdes. I felt that every one of my teachers was invested in me and my academic success.
My favorite memory from Lourdes is the Drama Club’s pre-show tradition before every musical performance of the Lourdes Theatre Company. The entire cast and crew participate. Before singing and using vocal exercises to prepare ourselves for the performance, the tradition always begins with a prayer that unites us all before going on stage. The silence is a beautiful, emotional part of the day that grows into loud excitement as we prepare to share our hard work with the community.
Any student considering Our Lady of Lourdes as their high school would be making the right choice. Lourdes is an ideal academic, social, and spiritual environment that will help shape students into future leaders. At the end of my four years at Our Lady of Lourdes High School, I feel more than prepared to reach my college goals. The teachers display kindness, are always willing to help, and inspire us to succeed.

How has remote learning impacted your education and/or prepared you for college?
The leadership at Lourdes made the transition to fully remote learning seamless, allowing us to continue our curriculum without interruption. Despite all of the fear and uncertainty brought on by the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, I developed a sense of self-reliance and commitment to my academics in order to get the most out of my classes. Although the classroom was moved from an in-person to a virtual setting, the independence in creating a personal classroom schedule prepared me for learning in a college environment.
