Bio

The 2023-2024 school year is Mr. Labrenz’s 2nd year as a faculty member in the Mathematics department at Our Lady of Lourdes High School. He has taught Algebra 1, Common Core Algebra 2, and College Calculus 1. This year he is teaching Common Core Algebra 2 and AP Calculus AB. It is Mr. Labrenz’s hope that by studying mathematics and analyzing real-life scenarios in the classroom, his students can apply these practices in their daily lives to become effective problem-solvers and critical thinkers.

Mr. Labrenz graduated from Marist College with a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics and a Bachelor of Arts in economics, along with minors in business administration and accounting. During his time as an undergraduate student. Mr. Labrenz was able to obtain internships at leading companies including Pepsi Cola of the Hudson Valley, KPMG, The Walt Disney Company, Morgan Stanley, and Central Hudson. As an educator, Mr. Labrenz actively participates in professional development opportunities and was fortunate to spend a week in Florida this past summer at an AP workshop for mathematics teachers across the country.

Outside of his teaching duties, Mr. Labrenz is the head coach of the JV boys soccer team, the head coach of the Varsity boys tennis team, and the co-moderator of the Lourdes math team.  He holds a National D coaching license for U.S. Soccer.
